It’s important to keep your phone up to date so that is protected against the latest operating system vulnerabilities. The Trustd app knows the version of Android your device is using, and whether you need to update.
However, updating is not always as simple on Android as we’d all like, for two reasons:
- Even if Android has released an update, different phone manufacturers make that update available to their userbase at different times – some can be very slow to push out that release.
- The other reason that you might not have an update available is if your phone model is no longer supported by the phone manufacturer. If it’s out of support, they won’t be releasing new versions of Android to your model any more. You should check the website for your phone’s manufacturer to see if it’s still receiving updates.
