Wiki – Detections

Detections will occur whenever one of the following is accessed on your device:

  • Microphone
  • Camera
  • Location
  • Phone
  • Screen Record
  • Install/Update
  • Call Recording (Microphone + Phone)

The detection view allows you to see contextual information based on this detection.

At the top of the detection you’re supplied with the detection type (one of the above list).

Risk Rating

The detection is marked with a risk rating, based on the context of the event. The possible risks are high, medium and low, the color at the top of the detection page will vary depending on the risk severity of that detection.

The provided example above is of a high risk microphone detection. The risk rating which has been allocated to this detection is described within the description. Our microphone access detection example is considered high risk, this is because the device wasn’t being used (aka wasn’t interactive) at the time of the microphone being accessed.

As shown in the image below, the time which the detection took place is supplied in the top left hand corner of the detection view.

Most Likely App

The most likely app to have conducted the detected action is supplied within this section. The certainty of whether it was this app which performed the action is indicated via the certainty column on the right side of each app.

If you want to get more information about this app’s actions at the time of the event, just expand the further info by clicking on the downward arrow.

Other Apps

The other apps active and with the permission to perform the action in question are supplied within other possible apps. The reason these apps are here is that we’re not always 100% accurate in our deduction, although we like to think we’re very close. It could be that another app running on your system performed the action in question and it’s up to you, to spot anything nasty lurking in the background.
